Manufacturing for Industrial Automation
Made-to-print components through a qualified manufacturing base. Applied to the constraints that define industrial automation: controls, robotics and integrated production systems.
Overview
Manufacturing in the industrial automation sector
Automation projects fail on integration far more often than on component quality. Our role is to supply controller, I/O, networking and sensing hardware as a coherent set, verified against the platform and protocol the site already runs, so the integrator spends commissioning time on the process rather than on hardware surprises.
When a component is no longer available, was never a catalogue item, or needs to be adapted, manufacturing is the route. We place made-to-print work with a qualified base covering machining, fabrication, casting and assembly, and manage the quality plan so what arrives matches the drawing and the duty.
Sector constraints
Platform compatibility
Hardware verified against the controller family and network protocol already installed.
Commissioning risk
Pre-configured instrumentation and kitted panel components to reduce time on site.
Legacy migration
Staged replacement of unsupported controls within achievable shutdown windows.
Capabilities
What we do for industrial automation clients
Made-to-print machining
CNC turning and milling to drawing, with material certification where required.
Fabrication and welding
Structural and pressure fabrication to recognised welding standards with qualified procedures.
Reverse engineering
Drawings produced from a physical sample where the original documentation no longer exists.
Assembly and testing
Sub-assembly build and function testing before dispatch, with test records supplied.
Quality planning
Inspection and test plans agreed before manufacture so acceptance criteria are not disputed afterwards.
Process
How the engagement runs
- 01
Drawing or sample review
We review the drawing or sample and confirm what is manufacturable, and where tolerances drive cost unnecessarily.
- 02
Manufacturing route
The right process and supplier are selected for the quantity, material and tolerance involved.
- 03
Quality plan
Inspection and test points are agreed before cutting metal, including any third-party involvement.
- 04
Manufacture
Production is monitored against the agreed milestones with progress reported.
- 05
Inspection and release
Dimensional and material verification against the quality plan before release.
- 06
Delivery
Goods delivered with the full certification and inspection record.
FAQ
Manufacturing for Industrial Automation — common questions
Platform compatibility: Hardware verified against the controller family and network protocol already installed. That shapes how the service is run, from the supplier set we go to through to the documentation delivered with the goods.
Yes. Controller, I/O, HMI, networking and sensing supplied as one verified package with a single delivery and document set.
Yes. We produce a dimensioned drawing from the sample, confirm material by analysis where necessary, and get your approval on the drawing before manufacture begins.
From one-off replacement components through to production batches. The economics change with quantity, and we will tell you honestly when a catalogue alternative is the better commercial answer.
